What is a procedure pack?

'Procedure pack' or 'kit' means a combination of products (usually from different manufacturers) packaged together and placed on the market to be used for a specific medical purpose.It is a collection of components used to a complete a specific task.
Based on a request of a client or hospital, manufacturer may make available together different products. The procedure packs in the following product areas:
Cardiology (interventional radiology) packs
Gynaecology packs
General packs
Ophthalmology packs
Orthopedics packs
Urology packs
Dental packs
Neurology packs.
Procedure packs are used throughout the NHS in both clinical and non-clinical environments for any procedure carried out within the trust. This procedure pack including bespoke packs, stock packs and national specification packs. These packs generate both cost savings to the end user and efficiency benefits in comparison to picking components off the shelf.
